On November 24, 2022, teachers will be introduced to science-school collaboration in citizen science projects from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

The OeAD Center for Citizen Science organizes in cooperation with the PH Vienna a training for teachers under the title "Citizen Science at and with schools - from theory to practice". The training is based on the contents of the brochure "Citizen Science - Forschen mit Schulen. Basics, recommendations & practical tips for joint projects". This brochure was developed by the working group "Citizen Science at/with schools", consisting of researchers, teachers and staff of the OeAD Center for Citizen Science. Here you will find helpful tips and examples for planning and implementing science projects in the context of school lessons. Link to the brochure (in German)

Objective

The aim is to teach teachers in Austria how they can work on scientific questions in the classroom together with researchers and students - from the identification of topics to their long-term anchoring in the school.

Programme

During the training, authors will present central contents of the brochure "Citizen Science - Research with Schools" and then work on project ideas together with the participants in small groups. The presenters will give feedback on the various aspects that need to be taken into account when designing and planning a project. Among other things, the following questions will be addressed: How can teachers develop and implement their own concrete project ideas? What challenges can they encounter in their specific teaching practice and in their concrete school context? And above all: How can they meet them?

The language of the training will be German.

When & Where

The training will take place on November 24, 2022, 14:00 to 18:00 at OeAD in Vienna.

Registration

Registration is possible via the PH Wien.
