Networking event for the young science and citizen science contact points

Date: 19/09/2018 10:00 - 15:30
Location: Palais Harrach, Freyung 3, 1010 Vienna, Austria

Research can profit from the enthusiasm and integration of children and adults. At the same time, the opening up of scientific processes is also challenging. Some research institutions in Austria already have experience with citizen science; others are still getting to know the concept.

In order to boost an exchange of experiences and to strengthen citizen science as well as the cooperation between research and schools, the Center for Citizen Science – with a special focus on Young Science – is hosting a first networking event for the so called Young Science and Citizen Science contact points at Austrian universities who act as internal and external contact points for citizen science and the cooperation between schools and research institutions.

The networking event also includes a market place where the universities can present their citizen science and young science initiatives in front of schools that have cooperated with research institutions for years. Those schools will also be awarded with the Young Science quality seal in order to honor their work with research projects.
