3rd networking event for young science and citizen science contacts
Date: 27/06/2019 11:00 - 12:30
Location: Obergurgl University Center, Gaisbergweg 5, 6456 Obergurgl, Austria
Citizen science is booming: the number of projects is increasing even though there is hardly any funding for citizen science projects and also only little recognition and support for scientists. But what does motivate scientists nevertheless to engage in citizen science projects? How can they motivate other researchers and convince other scientists about the benefits?
The networking event will draw upon the results of the workshop "About (lacking) citizen science incentives and recognition - what motivates and hinders scientists?" and will also focus on the motivation of citizen scientists. The aim is to discuss how various ideas to motivate scientists and citizens can be practically implemented at different institutions.
The third networking event will be hosted at the Austrian Citizen Science Conference 2019 in Obergurgl, Tyrol.
