Digital teaching and learning materials

Funding programme

Submit now for the 2nd call for proposals

The funding programme "Creation of digital teaching and learning materials with citizen science methods" is entering its 2nd round!

The aim is to create new, innovative and practice-oriented digital teaching and learning materials that achieve an added value that would not have been possible without the use of technical means. The orientation towards a citizen science approach (cooperation of learners, teachers or other specialised persons) is helping to integrate the know-how of those people who work with digital teaching and learning materials  into the development of these teaching and learning tools.

In terms of content, the teaching and learning materials of the second call should reflect cross-disciplinary topics such as mobility, migration, democracy, etc. Once again, the final products should also be available on the Eduthek learning platform as Open Educational Resources (OER) under a free a licence.

Research institutions, schools, educational institutions, non-profit institutions and companies are eligible to submit proposals. Projects will be funded up to a maximum of 50,000 euros per application, with a total of 500,000 euros available.

Only projects in which at least one educational institution is actively involved in the development of digital teaching and learning materials as a fixed educational partner are funded. This regulation also applies to submitting educational institutions. The participation period of the projects (inclusion of citizens) is possible in the school year 2019/2020. The recommended project duration is 12 months.

What is new is that citizen scientists are also involved in the decision of the projects that should be funded. Starting in mid-May 2019, projects eligible for funding shortlisted by the expert jury will be presented on the Innovation Foundation's website. All learners, teachers and interested persons are then invited to vote online for their favourite project.
