CREATING DIGITAL TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS WITH CITIZEN SCIENTISTS
Supported by the Innovationsstiftung für Bildung, research institutions, educational institutions, non-profit institutions and companies were invited to submit projects for the creation of digital teaching and learning materials. The aim of the two calls was to create new, innovative and practice-oriented digital teaching and learning materials that achieve an added value that would not have been possible without the use of technical means. The orientation towards a citizen science approach (cooperation of learners, teachers or other experts) is helping to integrate the know-how of those people who work with digital teaching and learning materials into the development of these tools.
In terms of content, the teaching and learning materials should reflect cross-disciplinary topics such as mobility, migration, democracy, etc. The final products should also be available on the Eduthek learning platform as Open Educational Resources (OER) with a free a licence.
Projects were funded in the first call for proposals up to a maximum of 25,000 euros, in the second call for proposals up to a maximum of 50,000 euros per application, whereby the total budget was increased due to the many excellent applications and the large participation in online voting. The total funding amount for both calls was 825,000 euros. Overall, 21 projects could be funded.
The running projects of the second call are now presented on the Eduthek learning platform (www.eduthek.at/mitmachen). Here, teachers and their pupils now have the opportunity to further develop and help shape these materials within the framework of teaching. The learning materials can be used free of charge in class. Feedback can be given on the content and graphic design as well as on usability and is expressly requested.
The final products of the eight funded projects of the first call are now available on the Eduthek website (www.eduthek.at/mitmachen) under the header "Abgeschlossene Projekte".
