Citizen Science, Open Innovation, Co-Creation, Crowdsourcing – science starts to open up: More and more citizens support researchers. They measure, observe, map. They work on a voluntary basis in scientific projects and enrich science with their special know-how and exciting new points of view.


Alliance of Responsible Science

What is Responsible Science? Already 43 institutions in Austria have joined the Alliance and follow the concept of Responsible Science. All interested institutions which regard Responsible Science as an important concept for future-oriented institutional acting in the context of scientific and artistic performance expectations and societal requirements can become a member of the alliance.

Program for the Austrian Citizen Science Conference 2019

The fifth Austrian Citizen Science conference is dedicated to boundaries and transitions. According to this motto, various keynotes and workshops take place in more than 2,000 m above sea level in Obergurgl, a village in the mountains of Tyrol. Citizen Science Award 2019 with various possibilities to participate

From April to June 2019, school classes and individuals are agan invitied to participate in one of the eight Citizen Science Award research projects. The various activities range from working with historical materials and  discussing an open concept of home to bird watching and the mapping of urban green spaces and waste in nature.

Horizon 2020 calls within the work programme "Science with and for Society"

Two new calls are open as part of the Horizon 2020 work programme "Science with and for Society". Project proposals can be submitted on the topics "Consolidating and expanding the knowledge base on citizen science" and "Exploring and supporting citizen science". The calls close on 2 April 2019.
