The Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research together with the Zentrum für Citizen Science invite citizen science- and science-oriented open innovation projects of Austrian research institutions to participate in the Citizen Science Award 2020. The most enthusiastic citizen scientists will we honored in a festive event. The registration is open until 25 November 2019.

ECSA Conference 2020

ECSA 2020 conference prpopsals: Deadline for submission of abstracts extended until 1 November 2019. From 24.5. - 26.5.2020 the conference takes place in Triest and focuses on junctures in science: between scientists and citizens; between East and West; between North and South; and between the different fields of sciences.

SAVE THE DATE: Austrian Citizen Science Conference 2020

The 6th Austrian Citizen Science conference takes place from the 6th to the 8th of May 2020. The transdisciplinary conference takes place in the heart of Vienna/Austria and focuses on the Topic "Citizen Science: Anspruch und Bedeutung". Besides a manifold conference program excursions to current Citizen Science projects and a Science Slam are offered.

Citizen Science Award Day 2019: Registration is open!

After last year's great success, the Center for Citizen Science and the seven research projects are once again inviting to this year's Citizen Science Award Day on 19 November in Vienna. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., all school classes and individuals will have the opportunity to visit guided tours, workshops and hands-on stations and get to know the research institutions and their projects better.

Citizen Science Award Ceremony 2019

From 1 April to 5 July, school classes and individuals participated in seven research projects. The Center for Citizen Science brings the most committed Citizen Scientists on 19 November before the curtain and honors their cooperation in one of the research projects by awarding the Citizen Science Awards. The award ceremony will take place in the newly renovated Great Festival Hall of the University of Vienna.

New publication on the nat. and int. citizen science landscape published

The brochure on citizen science initiatives, networks, platforms and funding offers a comprehensive overview of the current national and international citizen science landscape.
